Serbia have bounced back from their day one loss to Germany, coming from behind to defeat tournament hosts Lithuania 70-64 at the Dadu U16 European Championship Men.

Building off the support of another vocal crowd in Panevezys, Lithuania were doing it easy early to be leading by as much as 11 points. But when Jovan Starincevic hit his second consecutive three-pointer midway through the second quarter to complete a 15-2 run, the lead had gone and Serbia were in front by two.

Momentum remained with Marko Icelics' team following the half as their buffer grew to 10 points on a Nikola Pavlovic dunk midway through the third quarter.

Lithuania threatened late, coming within three points with under two-and-a-half minutes to play but Serbia stayed composed as Starincevic picked up four late points to lead his team to safety.

Starincevic finished with 28 points and Pavlovic added 12.

Domantas Sabonis put in the best all-round performance for Lithuania with nine points and 13 boards.

Serbia can confirm their place in the second round on Saturday should they defeat the winless Slovenia. Lithuania take on the undefeated Germany in the final group C game.
