Serbia head coach Marko Icelic has announced a 23-strong preliminary roster for the U16 European Championship that is staged in Latvia and Lithuania from 19 to 29 July.
Serbia face Germany, Slovenia and Lithuania in Group C.
The candidates have gathered in Belgrade at the weekend.
The group includes five players born in 1997 and even three players born in 1998.
Preparations have started on Monday.
After training camp, the team will play a test game against France, before traveling to Italy.
They will play hosts Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic in a friendly tournament.
The last test event before the departure to Lithuania will be a tournament in Serbian town Zrenjanin, with Greece, Russia and Ukraine as participants.
"We have met a couple of times before the official start of the preparations," Icelic said.
"All candidates have been introduced to the work methods and their obligations towards the national team."
Serbia finished ninth at last year's U16 European Championship.
Icelic did not want to make any predictions for this year's edition.
"There is enough time for us to prepare in the possible way in order to show our best at the European Championship," he concluded.
Icelic's coaching staff includes assistant coaches Milos Obrenovic, Nikola Markovic and Vanja Gusa as well as fitness coach Radivoje Mandic.
