Marc Garcia has scored 25 points to lead Spain to a 88-64 victory over Russia at the Dadu U16 European Championship.

The forward backed up his 13 points from an evening previous to go eight-for-12 from the field on the back of four three-pointers, assuring his team were not made to pay for a sluggish start to proceedings.

After being on the receiving end of a heavy defeat an evening previous, Russia were looking promising early on against the Spaniards, leading by seven points midway through the opening quarter.

However, it was only a slight glitch from Garcia and his teammates who quickly settled into their work with all of the Spanish team contributing to the final score.

Aleksandr Zuev was again consistent for Russia, scoring 15 points.

Tomorrow Russia take on hosts Latvia in a win-or-go-home game for both teams whilst Spain meet Ukraine in a top-of-the-table battle.
